Company History & Industrial Background

A legacy of energy, engineering and evolution.

Reinertsen New Energy was established in 2017 by Torkild R. Reinertsen, former CEO and owner of Reinertsen AS. The new company builds on more than 40 years of engineering leadership in the Norwegian oil and gas industry.

For decades, the Reinertsen name has been synonymous with engineering excellence. We have executed large, complex projects for clients like Equinor/Statoil, ConocoPhillips, Vår Energi, Gassco and others, including offshore and onshore process facilities, subsea facilities and infrastructure.

The legacy includes:

  • Studies and engineering of most large-diameter, subsea gas pipelines in Norway.

  • Studies and engineering of numerous subsea flowlines, production facilities and riser systems.

  • Maintenance and modifications, with long-term contracts for numerous offshore platforms and onshore process facilities.

  • Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC).

  • Built up two fabrication yards, in Mid-Norway and Murmansk, engaging more than 1000 engineers.

In parallel, we are early movers in hydrogen and CCS. Our work with palladium membrane technology began in 2011, leading to the establishment of Hydrogen Mem-Tech AS as a separate company.

Together, we carry forward a culture built on problem-solving, integrity, and technical mastery.

Our past does not define us, but it shapes the way we work. And it gives us the foundation to build what comes next.
