We operate a simple, informational website and collect only the data necessary for security, performance, and basic analytics where consent is given.

2. What personal data we collect

a) Information you provide directly

When you contact us by email or through any form on our website, we may collect:

  • Name

  • Email address

  • Phone number (if provided)

  • Company name

  • Message content

We process this information solely to respond to your enquiry and manage ongoing communication.

b) Automatically collected data

When you visit our website, Squarespace (our hosting provider) processes certain technical information. Depending on your cookie preferences, this may include:

  • Browser type and device

  • Operating system and version

  • Time zone, language settings

  • Pages viewed and navigation paths

  • Approximate geographic region (city/region)

  • IP address (see distinction below)

c) How we process IP addresses

We distinguish between two types of IP processing:

1. Security and operational logging (always active, no consent required)

Squarespace may temporarily log IP addresses to:

  • maintain website security

  • detect abuse or fraudulent access

  • support load balancing

  • ensure system stability

This processing falls under legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)) and is essential to operate the website. These logs are not used for analytics or profiling.

2. Analytics-related processing (requires consent)

If you choose “Accept all” in the cookie banner, we may process analytics data using:

  • Squarespace Analytics (non-essential cookies)

  • Google Analytics 4 (GA4)

GA4 is configured with:

  • IP anonymisation enabled

  • No Google Signals

  • No advertising features

  • No integration with Google Ads or social media platforms

  • Analytics tools only load after explicit consent.

3. Why we collect data (purpose and legal basis)

  • Legitimate interests

  • Responding to enquiries

  • Operating, securing and maintaining our website

  • Preventing abuse and troubleshooting technical issues

  • Consent

  • Optional analytics cookies (Squarespace and GA4)

  • Any future optional features (e.g., newsletter signup)

  • Legal obligation

  • Records required under applicable law

  • We do not use personal data for profiling, remarketing, advertising, or automated decision-making.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

Our website uses cookies for two purposes:

A. Essential cookies (always active)

Used for:

  • basic site functionality

  • load balancing and performance

  • security

  • remembering cookie preferences

These do not require consent.

B. Analytics cookies (optional)

Used only if you click “Accept all.”

Analytics cookies help us understand:

  • how many people visit our site

  • which pages receive traffic

  • how our content performs

  • basic visitor patterns (aggregated)

We do not use tracking for advertising, profiling, or cross-site behaviour.

See the full Cookie Policy below.

5. Third-party integrations

We use limited and privacy-focused third-party services:

Google Analytics 4 (GA4)

Used only for aggregated traffic insights and website optimisation.
IP addresses are anonymised, and advertising features are disabled.

Google Search Console

Integrated to understand how visitors find our site through search engines.
Search Console does not collect personal data from visitors.

We do not run advertising, remarketing, or social media tracking pixels.

6. International data transfers

Squarespace and Google may process information outside the EU/EEA, primarily in the United States.

Both rely on:

  • EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs)

  • EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework (where applicable)

  • UK Addendum for international transfers

  • These mechanisms ensure a legally adequate level of protection.

7. Data retention

  • Enquiry communication: normally retained for up to 12 months

  • Security logs (Squarespace): typically, 30–90 days

  • Cookie preferences: according to your browser and Squarespace settings

  • Analytics data (aggregated): stored in GA4 according to default archival periods

You may request deletion of your data at any time.

  • Access your personal data

  • Correct inaccurate information

  • Request deletion

  • Restrict or object to processing

  • Request data portability

  • File a complaint with your supervisory authority

To exercise your rights, contact us at post@rein-energy.com.

They cannot be disabled.
